Steering committee
The FETP steering committee is established to provide strategic guidance, oversight, and support to the Field Epidemiology Training Program. The committee's primary objective is to ensure the effective implementation, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of the FETP.
Composition
- Chairperson: A designated individual with expertise in public health and epidemiology, responsible for leading the committee's meetings and activities.
- Members: Representatives from key stakeholders, including but not limited to:
- Ministry of Health officials
- Academic institutions or training centers
- National public health agencies
- International partners
- FETP graduates
- Program Coordinator
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide strategic guidance: Develop and review the FETP's strategic plan, goals, and objectives, aligning them with national and global public health priorities.
- Program oversight: Monitor the overall implementation of the FETP, including curriculum development, trainee selection, training delivery, mentorship, and evaluation.
- Quality assurance: Review and provide feedback on the FETP's performance indicators, monitoring and evaluation systems, and assessment processes to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Resource mobilization: Support efforts to secure funding and resources necessary for sustaining and expanding the FETP.
- Networking and partnerships: Facilitate collaboration with relevant national and international institutions, fostering partnerships that enhance the FETP's impact and visibility.
- Advocacy and policy support: Advocate for the integration of FETP findings and recommendations into national policies, guidelines, and public health programs.
- Decision-making: Make informed decisions on matters related to the FETP, including policy changes, program expansions, and resource allocation, in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
Meeting Frequency
Determine the frequency of meetings based on program needs, but not less than twice a year.
